Update: The Writing Process Has Begun!

I am excited to announce that I have finished customer interviews for Debate the State!  I would like to thank everyone who took the time to share their perspective and provide me with excellent feedback.  I received a lot of great ideas regarding how to approach this book, thanks to those of you who interviewed with me.  Thank you so much!

As exciting as the feedback has been, I’m even more excited to announce that…

…I have begun writing Debate the State!

Granted, it’s not a whole lot (yet), but so far, I’ve written a  much more detailed version of the old outline that I initially posted.  My focus is on the logical construction in light of Debate the State‘s overall narrative about the danger of government power in contrast with the promise of liberty.  I want to make sure I have a good handle on my vision for the flow of the book before I fill out the outline.

Consequently, my next step is to fill in the outline with outside research.  After this process is over, I should have a pretty solid direction, which will allow me to focus on maximizing the rhetoric and persuasiveness of Debate the State.  If I do my work well in this outline phase, then I anticipate the writing and editing the final product will be much easier.

As far as the timeline is concerned, I want to finish a rough draft for Debate the State by the end of 2013.  I realize that this is an aggressive goal, but I figure I might as well shoot for it!

In the meantime, I will continue to update the website and work on expanding the reach of the Facebook page.  In fact, I’m looking forward to doing my next post on the dangers of economic intervention and why it matters to us (there will also be a neat graphic involved!).  Keep an eye out for it!

And please, if you have any thoughts or questions about the writing of Debate the State, don’t hesitate to leave a comment or send me a message on the Facebook page!
